Russell Brand: Skinned (working title) is a 60 minute documentary for Channel 4 combining behind the scenes footage and stand up performance with an in-depth interview conducted by Frank Skinner.
In early 2009 Russell completed an international tour that featured dates in New York and Australia as well as a number of shows in the UK. The tour culminated with a sell out 17,000 people gig at the O2. During this period cameras were following Russell backstage and travelling.
Just 3 years ago Russell was performing in Camden pubs in front of crowds of 20 people. Combining previously unseen footage of such gigs with the interview, the documentary not only tells the story of the Scandalous Tour but also touches upon Russell’s rise to fame, sexual notoriety and first hand experience of the media storm around ‘Sachsgate’, giving a unique insight into the man himself.

I went to see Russell perform his “scandalous” show at the Apollo in Manchester. The first thing I thought once the show ws over was, I wish I could see that show again. The news that the DVD of the show recorded at the o2 would be released in November was a really nice suprise. Just to push the boundaries even more, in typical Brand fashion, there’s even been a documentary made? I feel spoiled… It’s a nice feeling.

Hello Russell Brand. It is your fan again, AT. I just want to blog you today to let you know that I wish that I could make it to your stand-up shows next month, but I can’t because I will be very busy next month and I haven’t found a rich wealthy man to give me lots of money so that I can go to all of your stand-up gigs next month. You are still my favorite British Actor/Comedian/Entertainer and Superstar and I will always love you and your performances. I cannot wait for your next movie to come out. I know it’s going to be totally fly and awesome.
