How awesome was that interview with Frank Skinner? Really; the stand-up was as sensational as we’ve all come to expect, and the last thing I want to do is lessen it’s value, but the explanation behind the work was fascinating. In the same way that we want to have a hug from someone we admire, hearing their processes (aka the “comedy shit”) and thoughts makes them so much more real, so human. I’ll carry the image of the gypsy paedophile carrot-weilding snowman with me for weeks, but what really made my dvd-watching day was the thought that this hard-working person has faults and passions and is evolving much like we all evolve. Would I want to wear eyeliner every time I stepped out in public? No, I bloody well would not, and I might not want to explain everything about every decision I’d ever made to people I don’t know, either.

Russell and “team Brand” have done a great job of balancing humour and humanity, and while I understand the sentiment of “he’s changing”, I think it’s well earnt. Envy of his lovely new lady-friend aside (she’s so beautiful – bitch! I jest. sort of.), evolution will foster longevity, and we all want Russell to entertain us for years to come. So yes, JohnEditor, the video is lovely, I adored every second of it, and it’s made me want more. So perhaps, with all the boxes ticked, for me at least, you would be so good as to address the questions: Will there be a Ponderland season 3? Will Russell be gracing the shores of Australia some time soon? I’m hoping for a resounding “yes” to both…
