Although I’m not a great fan of his, Charlie Chaplin is undoubtedly one of the all-time, original, comedy greats. If he realises his potential, Russell has the talent to attain the same iconic status.

I wonder if, around the turn of the next century, a famous comedian as yet unborn will be doing a similar shoot all togged up in skinny jeans, eye liner and show-pony hair? I’d like to think so….

Yes, and wasn’t the comedy editor from TimeOut there and didn’t he write something like “the bloke who came fourth is from Essex and he could be the real thing” and wasn’t that what lifted RB out of small pubs and got him over to Edinburgh? (Something along those lines anyway…..)
