Well I live in London, but goddammit, I’ll saddle up the horse and ride to Hollywood for this!

    ^_^

  3. ermm says:

    short notice innit russell?

  4. Sofiya says:

God damn it, man! Come to Chicago!

England is forgotten about and I can’t help but feel like Russell is changing. Movies…marrying a famous singer. Don’t lose touch with where you came from. When your old English fans think of you they think of Big Brother, 6 music, radio 2….not LA and Katy Perry. Remember that =/ xx

  6. Arika says:

I second Sofiya’s comment. Goddammit, Russell come to Chicago!!

  7. erin says:

I’m not even from England and I have to agree with Jess! Russell joked about ultimately “becoming” Aldous Snow through time. Or was he joking? Hmmmm

The link doesn’t appear to be working! :(

With all due respect to previous commenters, should Russell really be expected to do things like Big Brother or 6Music forever? He’s always had huge ambitions and never would have been happy with that. The idea of him doing movies is nothing new — he’s planned to do this since he was very young. He’s realizing a lifelong ambition. So while I can understand being a bit sad that he’s no longer as accessible, this is the natural progression of his career and I am happy that he’s achieving it. I also don’t believe he has truly changed, at his core – it’s just his circumstances that have changed.

My only issue is that I would like him to still be more in touch with fans via the website and Twitter – I feel like it’s a shame that all the personal videos and tweets that he did last year are no longer happening. I don’t see why he can’t still do that regardless of what he’s doing in his career. It’s not like it takes THAT much time and it would go a long way toward making fans still feel connected & included.

  10. Minisha says:

I think everything is absolutely fine and Russell can carry on doing anything he wants… As long as he puts out enough material for us to see/hear.

  11. Persephone says:

When I tried the link to get tickets it said it was invalid and to contact the theater dirstcly. Perhaps it is a sign that is not meant to be at this time. May try tomorrow.

  12. Jaime says:

Directly from Ecuador, in Hollywood just to see your show, mate. Got the ticket already… now lets see what you got. Ever considered doing a gig in good old south america?

  13. Cand86 says:

For anybody interested- if the broken link isn’t fixed, you can go to http://www.acmecomedy.com/acmeplayers.htm and click on “Tickets” and a pop-up with the performers, Russ included, will appear for you to order (a mere $15, too!).

Now . . . debating if I can go. Oh, why can’t you come to San Francisco, Russell?

  14. Jackie says:

    I second Jess..
    in a way.
Russell you simply were sooo much funnier and also definitely way more loveable in the UK.
Unforgettable those random Big Fat Quiz of The Year Shows when you made Jimmy Carr and everyone else look like a total beginner comedian, Unforgettable with Jonathan Ross or with Noel Fielding together, Unforgettable that amazing radio 2 show with the brilliant, brilliant Matt, not to forget him, where Noel Gallagher seemed to sleep over in the studio..
I lived there for years and know that in the US there are many many brilliant people who value good humour, be it British or American, but
Sarah Marshall and Greek are designed to amuse those who also laugh at Dumb&Dumber. Russell, you can do SO MUCH better, you are so much smarter and I thought more independent than that.
I couldn’t care less if you shag Katy Perry or half of Camden, but seriously, return to your roots in a comedy sense, in whichever country you want to do it, that’s unimportant.
I want the Russell back that invented the Magic Sea Horse and explained Tron to Lily Allen, the Russell that had uncontrollable laughing fits with Matt about girls who were afraid of eating anything but chocolate, the Russell that went up to his first VMA Awards telling the American Public that Bush was mentally retarded and we wanted Obama in the same breath as you explained what you did with that cherry lip stick following Perry’s first song.
Seriously, mate, you’ve lost a bit of class. Hate saying it cause I adore you. You may be making more money now but you’ve become WAY LESS FUNNY. Just marry Perry or get your fortune together otherwise, and I think it should be (like you said, no one’s ever gone bankrupt by buying too many flowers.)
But don’t sell out your humour, you were too brilliant for that, and lately all I’ve seen is a bit bland.
    Love, Jackie

Agree with you, Jackie. Unfortunately it’s all got a bit silly now. Let’s hope it’s just a phase?
