Look at the orb on the shoulders of Noel. Like Atlas with the globe but a bit modified. Must expand with his ever swelling ego. In ten years time he’ll be competing with Jupiter and might have to deal with his own head-related global warming issues.

    Russ is beautiful.

Hi – just wanted to give some feedback on the new podcasts.

I love that these are being done — it’s really, really great to have Russell & Matt & Gee & Noel back together in any incarnation.

However, I find the format & multiple versions very confusing. Each week, there are at least 2 versions (between the Talksport site and iTunes), and they’re usually about the same length, so it doesn’t really appear that one is just a longer, uncut version of the other. Each version has some content that’s not in the other, but there are overlapping bits, as well. There doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason for what’s included in one version vs. the other. The result is that if we want to be sure to hear everything, we have to listen to all versions, which takes a lot of time and is repetitive! Can’t there just be ONE version that was actually aired on TS (presumably a shorter, more edited one) and ONE version that’s “uncut” for later downloading? That way, those of us who want to hear the most content will know that we can just download the uncut version only.

In addition, the format of jumping around between clips of Russ doing standup, then Russ & Matt live onstage, and then backstage, makes it seem disjointed and a bit frustrating. Just as they start to hit their stride in a really funny bit, discussing whatever random topic, it’ll often abruptly cut to something else, and you’re left feeling cheated that you didn’t get to hear more of the first thing! Personally I would rather hear longer clips of one continuous conversation, whatever backstage or onstage, rather than all this jumping around.

This last week’s podcast (#4) was especially confusing — it went from stuff recorded in Manchester, to stuff from Newcastle and Edinburgh, even including things that had already been in previous podcasts (e.g., the shaving pubic hair thing from Ed.)!

I don’t mean to complain — as I said, I feel lucky that we get to have Russell back in radio format at all. There are a lot of great moments on these podcasts! I just think it could be a lot better if these technical aspects were improved. Would it help to write to Talksport about this?

    Thanks for all you do.

  15. Yeah I have to agree with the guy a couple of comments up. Indiscriminate advertising is for noobs!
