Awesome mate! Hopefully there isn’t a Daily Mail equivalent over there to spin the Hep C joke!

  3. Ben says:

Nice that you’ve decided to go to America and conquer that molehill. Can’t say I’m a fan of the new idiot friendly accent and vicar’s tea party humour but I suppose nothing really compares to you and Matt bickering and trying to get one over on each other whatever the cost in my eyes.

    Still good luck mate.

  4. Kelly says:

Now I can say Russell Brand gave me the mono. People will assume mononucleosis, as opposed to a -monologue. Either is an honor. The show was lucky to have you, and if logic prevails it won’t be your last offer to host. Peace, love, and an increased focus on foreplay.

Did you change your accent and the way you talk for the american audioence? very happy that your conquering the american scene but at what cost!.. give me 40 mins of your thinkings and own personality over any american tv show and movie any day of the week… much love old russ, x.

Russell, were you worried after the VMA’s that if you said anything controversial you would be banned? Your monologue was essentially a watered down version of some of your old standup sketches. I love you, but you can do better.

But perhaps to go mainstream that is what you have to do, and if so, this is where you and I must part ways (at least until you are back on the radio, but if you do go back, please don’t let talksport edit your shows. The editing was so bad it was comical. As nice as it was to hear the gang reunited, the shows weren’t great…)

I agree with Ben, Sounds so different :(
You’ll always make me giggle more than anyone else can tho :) just funnier when performing to British audience I think x

Russell’s recent transformation is worse than when Dylan went electric. Part of what I loved about Russell was his underlying darkness and mystery, and his intelligent rebelliousness. These days he’s ditched that vibe and gone for the lovable English twit, getting rid of the edgy comedy and trademark complex vocabulary and is delivering much more family-friendly comedy in a weird voice. Obviously he’s changed his comedic style to suit American audiences, which is fair enough, and it is working. I personally prefer the old Russell, and think his and Matt’s old sketches were absolutely brilliant. I don’t really like his outfits these days either and he should also grow his beard back.

That said Russell Brand is, and always will be, my favourite comedian and the reason I fell in love with comedy.
