If Russell has changed his “look” to please his wife, that is understandable. They are married, and are supposed to do these types of things for each other.
But…there was something edgy and british rock that i loved before the beard came off and “THE HAIR”…was gone. Everything, including his comedic style is kinda tame now. I am an american. If this change he’s made is supposed to better suit the american appetite or version of what good comedy is.. well then i am in the wrong country. Whatever he was doing before is so much more shocking, hilarious, unique, etc.. Please don’t allow America to Americanize you Russell!
Geez y’all. Give the guy a break. He lives in America now and he’s married to the girl of his dreams He is evolving. He is living a seemingly clean lifestyle and seems very happy and excited about that. I think he has just scratched the surface. I can see in the coming years, Russell tapping into some incredible talent that is buried within because I’ve got a feeling there is a whole lot more too this guy than what meets the eye.
Russell you are truly brillant and a by far my favorite comedian. I am quite bothered by those that want to apparently lose sleep over this cleaner look. Personally, I think you look great clean, dirty, etc. Keep up the great work
Loved you on SNL- you elevated the entire show! My favorite skit- the Pastry Chef! I saw a twinkle of your real self in it.* Grab the Butter!* The girl in it with you looked totally freaked as you humped her around the stage- makes me laugh just to think of it.
I have to say I agree with some of the posters here in that you seemed like Russell Brand “Lite” Like Miller beer’s “Lite” wit out the calories that make normal beer sooo tasty. I know you have to speak slower for the (dimwit faction)American audience. You definitely have a following here-and the rest will catch up with you and your brilliance. Don’t try to be like a politician and move to the middle…..You will get more votes/fans, but at what price?…. THE COST OF YOUR SOUL Bwahahhaha! Sorry, the morning java just kicked in..
I have all your shows available from “over there”. I even took the time to understand the Wossy/Brand BBC controversy-which, if you ask me, was nuts. Bring down the BBC with a prank phone call?? Howard Stern would’ve been out of business years ago if crank calls killed. (Wuv U Wossy!)
Was alright, but you need to come up with some new material. I felt like most of it was your old sketches…also why were you talking so oddly and without the verbosity that usually defined your gigs? I guess toned it down for the American audience. I still love you and your old sketches made me laugh until I’d cry. Maybe once your finish your successful takeover of the U.S. you can revert back to your old style of edgy comedy. Maybe get the facial hair back again?
Much love!
Russell, your monologue was fantastic and you did a solid job on the sketches. SNL is an American institution and a culture all its own. I’m sure it was tough to hold back and flow with the current rather than directing it yourself, but it was worth your effort. Its one more step toward conquering the hearts of Americans. Let’s be real…you’ve already conquered a good chunk of us females already!!! How can we not fall deeply madly in love with you, Russell??? And come on…you have to be famous here by now!!!

SNL writting is not what it used to be. Hasen’t been good since Chris Farley. They should have let Rissell do the writting
Not enough Russell….
Mate? What? Did you decide what you were going to say 5 minutes before you went on?
Still, best of luck dude.
You were great as always, but PLEASE bring back the facial hair! You don’t look naughty enough this way. ;)

xoxox Your biggest U.S. Fan-Diane
PS Hope you hit Howard this week!!
His comedy in USA is based around an endless supply of corny jokes about the Royal family.
Take a leaf out of Cohen and Gervais.
You dont need to do that in order to be a successful British comic in America
:) Loved the ‘Royal Taster’ sketch!

Russell is that you? Or Ricky Gervais? You make the audience appear thick and get away with it. Well done.
