I always thought he was a git and I will admit…..I was totally wrong, he came across as a totally genuine (at times mixed up) bloke who at times had took wrong turns. Piers is excellent at getting the real person to shine and he did a real job on Russell.

I will certainly be watching Arthur and waiting for all things Brand…ed.

Loved it. Russell always makes you smile. My heart was aching though when they talked about his drug phase. I’m so happy that he’s happy now.

Not available in Thailand. BTW Russell really appreciate your sympathetic ear for David Icke. His time is coming.

    Russell:

I think you were great in Sarah Marshall and g.h.t.t. greek. I loved the Greek movie so much I have seen it about 10 times so far. It truely is hilarious. HOP is also really cute and I think its gonna be a big money maker.

However, Arthur is just ok due to a variety of things. script and editing not great, some miscasting and you might have over played the character—but that seems like a director issue to some extent—director choices. The director makes or breaks the film with his choices.

I can see what a risk any creative endeavor can be. Many stars say(I have read) its impossible to tell if a film is going to be great or not.

I think you have done so many things so successfully, you wont be hurt by Arthur’s being just ok….. (wouldnt it be interesting to try and recut it? would that make a difference?) “Greek” was so good because you really “got to know” the main characters and it was fun to relate to them. Arthur does not allow enough development of the characters in a real way–its more like the characters are characatures…like parody..I am not trying to be a “critic” I am just trying to explain how it felt to me.

I would like to see you do some things where you have more creative control …I think this would probably lead to deeper success…but that might be a ways off in films…. meantime, its probably a matter of directors you pick and luck……

Keep doing new things and keep experimenting. I really enjoy your work…you are so entertaining. So thanks…. Just wanted to tell you one person’s impression.. I am a fan..keep creating!!
