I was lucky to be at Russell’s Auckland show!!! A life changing experience! I would never had thought Russell’s humor and spirituality would have such an effect on me! What a really enlightened man! I got to meet Russell after the show and he was happy to have photos and have a chat!! You are welcome in New Zealand anytime!

I know almost nothing about Russell Brand, but what I’ve seen of him has me strangely intrigued. He’s a most peculiar chimaera of the spiritual and the profane. Makes me think of Dostoyevsky’s The Idiot before his rewrite, a kind of carnal Christ-child.
And now I find myself worried about young Russell and where he goes from here. Present trajectory does not seem sustainable. What’s to become of him when he grows up? Warning. The good old USA is no place for free spirits.
Once read that in coming up with the formula for Budweiser beer that researchers decided to remove every trace of bitterness or any other flavor that might give offense. The resulting beverage found popularity by its complete lack of character and clinically tested vapidity. Don’t think that American culture has the digestive system to handle unadulterated Brand. And I shudder to think of what happens to comedians who go mainstream. Think that the banality of it might prove fatal to poor Russell.
Just a shout out. Russell, take it from somebody who is older and possibly less lost than you are. I think, spiritually, that you are on the right path. Just hold on to your present priorities.
